Enowi – Cornish ‘to light’. Enowi is a short experimental film, book and series of prints exploring preternatural light amongst familiar and isolated nightscapes in Cornwall with ground-breaking visual effects. Three elements bring Enowi’s story to light, Wood, Water and Stone. These three sections within the film follow themes of flow, growth, and stability, reminding the viewer of the importance of our untouched surroundings at night. Through an immersive experience Enowi proves that creating these beautiful nightscapes is not a daunting experience.
Exploring rugged and rich Cornish landscapes under moonlit skies became an experience of documentation from an Arizonan’s perspective. Whether it was the unforgiving salty shorelines, the vibrant glow of winter forestry or standing stones being battered in the elements it had such a diverse feel to it. At its core, this project stemmed from this obsession of exploring these landscapes at night, imagining what they could look like with a personal artistic flare. Chasing starlight under immense downpours and overcast evenings helped bring an understanding to the unpredictability of Cornish weather, undeniably improving the final product.
